FOR WHAT WE ARE ABOUT TO RECEIVE:

These table paintings are part of an installation called For What We Are About To Receive. It was a collaboration between about 70 people; some I knew I well, many were acquaintances. I asked them all to provide me with a memory of a childhood mealtime, using text and image.

I bound the results into a book which was exhibited on a table, made by my husband from decomissioned Newlyn fishing boats. A long tablecloth, made by my mother, was spread across the table and stretched across the gallery floor. My twelve paintings of tables, referencing other artists, completed the installation and were hung on the walls surrounding the table.
